At the World Health Awareness Team (WHATorg), we are deeply grateful for the financial support, corporate sponsorships, and donations we receive from our community champions, institutional partners, and volunteers. Because your contributions are immediately deployed to fund critical public health screenings, local health fairs, and educational sponsorships in Haiti, we maintain a transparent and structured policy regarding refunds.
1. Charitable Donations
As a general rule, all financial contributions made to the World Health Awareness Team via our online portal (including the PayPal Donation SDK) or submitted via traditional check are considered final, non-refundable, and tax-deductible.
However, we recognize that administrative errors can occur during digital processing. We will review and honor refund requests under the following exceptional circumstances:
- Processing Errors: If a technical glitch results in a duplicate charge, or if an extra zero is accidentally added to your intended donation amount during submission.
- Unauthorized Activity: If a donation was executed fraudulently using your credit card, debit card, or PayPal account without your consent, provided the unauthorized activity is validated by your financial institution.
Timeline for Donation Refund Requests
To request a correction for a processing error, you must contact our administrative team in writing within 30 calendar days of the transaction date. Please include your full name, transaction date, total amount, and the donation confirmation receipt. Approved refunds will be issued back to the original payment method utilized during the initial transaction.
2. Corporate Partnership & Sponsorship Tiers
Commitments made to our corporate sponsorship program—including Bronze ($500+), Silver ($2,500+), and Gold ($5,000+) tiers—are non-refundable once the partnership application has been processed and administrative onboarding has begun.
- Marketing & Recognition Deliverables: Because your corporate names, logos, and business descriptions are systematically integrated into our published printed Annual Report and digital web directories upon registration, we cannot issue partial or full refunds after these assets have been processed or published.
- In-Kind Corporate Donations: Donations of physical goods, medical equipment (such as glucometers or diagnostic tools), or logistical assets are entirely non-refundable and cannot be returned once possession is transferred to our field teams, as they are immediately distributed into active clinical pipelines.
3. Dedicated Mission & Event Sponsorships
Contributions tied to dedicated regional missions or specific educational sponsorships—such as the “Univers des petit” program in Haiti—are legally classified as restricted funds. These funds are locked directly into programmatic operations and are strictly non-refundable. In the rare event that a specific local project is canceled or overfunded, WHATorg reserves the right to reallocate those funds to an alternate health fair or disaster relief pipeline where the community need is greatest.
4. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
We kindly ask that donors and partners connect with our administrative office directly to resolve any accidental transaction discrepancies. Initiating an unannounced chargeback or payment dispute through your bank or PayPal creates steep administrative overhead and processing penalties for our non-profit, diverting vital funds away from our mobile medical screening clinics. We pledge to work openly and efficiently with you to resolve valid mistakes directly.
