📍 Florida Community Initiatives

Annual Health Fairs & Screenings

Our mobile health screening events bring critical preventive care directly to Florida communities, helping individuals catch undiagnosed conditions before they become emergencies.

  • 2022 (Orlando): 251 participants screened, resulting in 15 direct referrals to community care.
  • 2019 (West Palm Beach): 1,000+ individuals screened with 200 referrals to local health providers.
  • 2016 (Orlando): 400 participants screened and 120 referrals provided.

The Cumulative Florida Outcome:

Out of 1,651 total participants across these massive screening events:

  • Diabetes Care: 335 people required further testing, treatment, or counseling. 56 individuals were completely unaware of their diabetic condition until our screening.
  • Hypertension Awareness: 150 participants were advised to seek immediate medical treatment from community centers or primary care providers. 17 of them were entirely unaware of their high blood pressure diagnosis.
  • Tools for Success: To ensure long-term monitoring, we distributed 125 glucometers (blood sugar machines) and 55 sphygmomanometers (blood pressure cuffs) directly to families in need.

Back to School & Health Screening (July 29, 2023)

WHATorg teamed up with Iglesia Nueva Vida de Orlando and Dna Serenity Care for an incredible, high-energy community day. While the church provided music, a candy machine, and immense joy for the kids, our team focused on equipping families for a healthy school year.

  • Supplies Distributed: Free backpacks packed with school supplies for local students.
  • Adult Health Teachings: We screened 35 adults. While most did well, many received crucial, life-saving education regarding hypertension (high blood pressure) and hyperglycemia (high blood sugar).
  • Vital Donations: Distributed 40 first aid kits and 3 glucometers.
  • A special thank you to our CFO, Mr. Arol, who personally stepped up to fund extra first aid kits on the spot when demand from eager families outpaced our supply!

Food Drive & Homeless Outreach (2023)

In a powerful multi-agency effort, WHATorg collaborated with Feed the Children Ministry and Heartbeat of Medicine to organize a targeted food drive, successfully feeding vulnerable and unhoused individuals across the St. Petersburg and Orlando regions.

📍 Haiti Relief & Education

Sustainable Education Sponsorship

When the “Univers des petit” school in Petionville, Haiti, was on the brink of permanent closure due to a complete lack of funding, WHATorg stepped in to prevent a heartbreaking crisis. Without this intervention, these children—many of whom are orphans—would have been left with zero access to safe education.

  • 100 Children Sponsored: WHATorg completely sponsors 100 students annually, covering their tuition and giving them a stable environment to learn and grow.
  • Graduation Support: We have proudly supported three consecutive graduations for children completing their third year of kindergarten.
  • Our Vision: We are actively working on plans to expand the school infrastructure to support grades well beyond kindergarten.

Tri-Annual Missions & Medical Outreach

Our dedication to Haiti is a year-round commitment. WHATorg team members fly out to Haiti three times every single year to conduct mass medical screenings, hand out food/essential supplies, and provide immediate, on-the-ground crisis relief following major natural disasters.

Long-Term Medical Counseling (Marouge, Haiti)

Between 2015 and 2019, our medical teams established a vital healthcare pipeline in the region of Marouge:

  • 750 Residents Treated & Counseled: Guided by the expert care of Dr. Wilbert Cadet and Dr. Aurel David, hundreds of residents received thorough medical assessments and lifestyle counseling.
  • Local Nursing Support: The doctors were supported on-site by three registered nurses and one student nurse who actively reside in Haiti, ensuring culturally competent, continuous care.
  • Home Management Tools: We donated 225 glucometers to less fortunate residents, pairing the devices with hands-on training from our local Haitian nurses to ensure proper maintenance and medical follow-up.

💡 WordPress Implementation Tips:

  1. For the “At a Glance” section: If you use Elementor or a premium theme, convert that Markdown table into a “Counter” or “Number Icon” widget block. Seeing numbers like 1,651+ roll up dynamically looks incredibly professional.
  2. Icons: Use maps or flags (🇺🇸 / 🇭🇹) or custom icons next to the Florida and Haiti headers to visually separate the text for easier scrolling.
  3. Call to Action: At the very bottom of this page, don’t forget to add a big button that links to your “Donate” or “Get Involved” page so people moved by these stories can support the next event!
